Nicholas Mertaugh, MD MS
Co-Founder/Chief Technology Officer
In his final year of the M.D. program at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Mr. Mertaugh also holds an M.S. in computer science from Wake Forest University and an M.S. in biophysics from Georgetown University. During his academic career Mr. Mertaugh has been involved in various research and engineering projects including his positions as lead architect on a series of popular web-based student study tools at Georgetown University, consulting software engineer of factory process control clients for Energizer Battery, and vascular surgery research analyst and contributing author on several publications with the department of endovascular surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. His backgrounds in software development and clinical medicine give Mr. Mertaugh a bilingual fluency that bridges the gap between the unique technological needs of today’s transforming medical field and their software solutions.
Harry Fitzmeyer
Co-Founder/Website Manager and Developer
Harry brings over 20 years of business management experience to MDiWeb. His past positions include General Manager at Adventure Holdings where he managed all phases of the operation and a staff of nearly 100 employees; Sales and Service Manager at Venture Vending where he was responsible for all operations for the company in regards to sales and customer relations, accounts management for the Southeast region of the U.S. covering Florida to South Carolina; solicited new accounts and doubled customer base in first year. Managing Partner at Third Street Restaurant Inc., controlled all operations of facility and converted business from worst in sales to top five in three years. General manager at Michigan Management Inc. where he was responsible for marketing and promotions, budget forecasting and execution, labor controls, training, purchasing, scheduling, festivals and events coordinator for the city of Jacksonville, FL where he worked with city officials on planning and execution of events. Represented company at conventions and media events.
John J. Smith
Co-Founder/Software Technology
John is a computing and software technologist. His expertise is high performance architectures. While at Thinking Machines Corporation, Mr. Smith produced the first commercial disk array, and invented the “Scalable Disk Array”. He then founded and led STONE+WIRE, developing high bandwidth disk arrays and networks to support the burgeoning digital special effects industry. In 1996, after a profitable exit, (via acquisition by Discreet Logic, Inc. of Montreal, Canada), Mr. Smith began his consulting career and has worked with several successful Internet and enterprise ventures, including Alexa Internet, (purchased by Amazon), BrightMail, (purchased by Symantec), Knowledge Stream Partners, (purchased by Amdocs), John’s recent work with Black Duck Software transformed this single product company into a SaaS provider by constructing a SOA platform and new website retooled to achieve the “Learn > Try > Buy > Share” ideal in attracting qualified traffic. John holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and has completed several executive programs in communication, management and leadership.
Daniel A. Griffin, MBS
Web Master/Website Manager
Daniel brings over a decade of experience in the healthcare field as a multi-faceted technology professional with familiarity managing enterprise implementations of healthcare information and EMR systems. Mr. Griffin has proven his ability to lead seamless implementations and deliver next-generation technical solutions while working in the healthcare industry, which have resulted in improved revenues, margins and workplace productivity. Mr. Griffin is also an experienced web developer who delivers impactful websites, graphic designs and other multimedia projects that provide the recipient with a fresh communication tool that is clean, clear and consistent with the goals and mission of the company. Mr. Griffin’s interests in web development stemmed from growth in the fusion of technology and the web as a means of increasing data portability and accessibility both online and through the use of mobile devices and tablets. Mr. Griffin has earned his M.BA. and a Bachelors of Science in Information Systems Management from the Sawyer School of Management at Suffolk University.
